William P. “Bill” Poole, 79, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home.
Born March 23, 1939 in Eldorado, IL, he was a son of Joseph and Marion (Stewart) Poole.
He married Jane M. Wheeler in July of 1986. She survives in Hartford.
A former M.P. in the U.S. Army, Bill worked as a millwright at Laclede Steel for a time and retired from the Argosy Casino as an electrician and maintenance technician. He enjoyed spending time and talking with his family. He also enjoyed driving his truck and loved riding his Cub Cadet around the yard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Minnie Poole of St. Charles, MO; two sons, Billy and Joe Poole; and a brother, Davey Poole of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Wallace; and four brothers, Ralph, Gregory, Leonard, and J.R. Poole.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 11 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Apr. 12.
He will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
