William Gresham

Delhi |

William Edward “Billy” Gresham, 59, passed away at 2:26 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2024 at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on May 23, 1964 in Jerseyville and was the son of William and Betty Jean (Perdun) Gresham.

Billy was a lifelong over the road truck driver for 30 years, and was currently employed with Fleishmann’s Vinegar in Alton, Illinois. Throughout his career, he was fortunate to have traveled across the United States, affording him the opportunity to see and explore many beautiful landscapes along the way.

He was an avid outdoorsman and could often be found out in the woods, collecting arrowheads or enjoying the open road on his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.

He enjoyed sharing in the company of his many friends, often times with a cold Bud Light in hand and showcasing his “best” dance moves.

His girls brought him the greatest joys that this world could offer, and he considered it to be his greatest accomplishment here on earth to be their father. When his grandchildren came along, they had him wrapped around their finger, and he enjoyed teasing and spoiling them as often as he could.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Karrick of Jerseyville; two daughters and a son in-law, Megan and Tyler Collins of Evansville, Indiana and Brittany Gresham of Godfrey; his honorary “bonus” daughter, Tiffany Baalman of Delhi; five grandchildren, Makenzie, Kelsey, Landon, Camden and Josephine; two sisters and brothers in-law, Patty and Paul Roberts of Northport, Florida and Vicki and Richard Gibson of Henderson, Kentucky; three brothers and a sister in-law, Michael “Mickey” Miller of Riverview, Florida; Terry “Moose” Miller of Jerseyville and Stan “Bub” and Liz Karrick of Jerseyville; a brother in-law, Bob Kessinger of Brighton; as well as his “true love”, his loyal K-9 companion, Misfit.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Gresham; a sister, Debra Kessinger and a brother, Gary Miller.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
