William Carroll

Dateline: Alton William Carroll, 70, passed away at 2:29 p.m., November 9, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Ina, Illinois on July 10, 1947, the son of Wilburn “Bud” and Doris Jean (Beaty) Carroll, they both preceded him in death.William was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the Alton VFW Post 1308, The Alton Leathernecks, The Veterans Commission of Edwardsville, The Marine Corps League, Toys For Tots and the Franklin Masonic Lodge. He worked as owner/operator of B&M Furniture in Alton.He is survived by his children William “Bill” (Kimberly) Carroll, Jr. of Clintwood, Virginia and Trisha Carroll of Alton, Illinois; three grandchildren, Allyson, Cameron and Ida and a brother Mike (Susan) Carroll of Alton, Illinois.Visitation will be Monday, November 13, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Toys for Tots.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of the arrangements.
