William Irvin

William “Bill” Leroy Irvin, 64, died at 12:53 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at his residence.  He was born November 17, 1952 in Alton the son of William “Bill” and Luella (Slone) Irvin.  After 40 years he retired as a truck driver with Alton Steel formerly known as Laclede Steel.   Surviving are two daughters:  Julie Irvin (Marty Busler) of St. Louis, and Kim Handler (Chris) of East Alton; three grandchildren, Caleb, Hailey and Gwenivere; one brother, James Irvin, one sister, Yvonne Norris of Godfrey and his mother, Luella Irvin of Godfrey. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Steven Irvin.   A Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at 304 Monroe Street in East Alton.  Memorials may be made to Living Lands and Waters Organization.  Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
