WILLIAM “BILL” J. KUNTZ
AGE: 95
Died: 9:20 AM, Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 at Jerseyville Manor.
Born in Alton, IL, he was the son of the late William and Cecil (Musgrave) Kuntz. On May 8, 1943 he married Elizabeth Miller in Alton. She died July 12, 1985. He later married Doris (Baker) Ashlock on Dec. 7, 1985 at Kane, IL. He was a member of Delhi Baptist Church where he served as usher, worked in Awana Men for Missions and along with his wife served as greeter for 22 years. He was also known as the candy man.
He retired from Owens-Illinois Glass in 1981 after 41 years of service.
In addition to his wife Doris, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ron Ryan and a Grandson, Bill Easton all of Ocala, FL and a sister-in-law, Mary Davenport of Jerseyville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and a nephew.
Visitation will be from 3 until 7 PM, Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 at the Delhi Baptist Church and will continue from 9 AM until service time at 10 AM Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 with Pastor Ken Fields officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be made to Delhi Baptist Church.
