William Frizzell

William “Bill” Frank Frizzell, 87, of Wood River, IL, died Monday, June 3, 2013 at his home.

He was born Nov. 4, 1925 in Tamaroa, IL to the late Frank & Elsie (Rewolinski) Frizzell.

On Sept. 29, 1962, he and Linda Rae Harbke were married in Roxana, IL. She survives in Wood River.

He was employed for 39 years at the Wood River Shell Refinery, starting in the Gas Plant and was Complex Supervisor when he retired. He loved fishing on the Illinois River near Hardin and made many trips there to enjoy the outdoors. Bill had a green thumb and enjoyed raising both flowers and food and delighted in sharing his produce with his family and friends. He was also a creative woodworker.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie R. & Jim Suerig and a granddaughter, Alexis Suerig, all of Wood River.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dean Klein.

Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, with Rev. Joan Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the William M. BeDell Achievement and Resource Center, 400 S. Main, Wood River, IL, in recognition of their assistance to his granddaughter, Alexis.
