Wende D. Winchester, 51, passed away at 10am on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at her residence. She was born on October 29, 1966, in Alton, the daughter of the late Richard E. and Carolyn R. (Smith) Harris. She married Edward Winchester on March 25, 1985, in Godfrey, and he survives. Other survivors include a daughter: Karissa Winchester and her fiancé: Ryan Lowrance of Bethalto, a son and daughter in law: Kyle and Michelle Winchester of Edwardsville, three grandchildren: Kyleigh Johnson, Mason Winchester, Maxwell Winchester, an expectant grandchild: Emersyn Lowrance, one brother: Richard Harris of East Alton, her mother in law: Celena Winchester of Bethalto, a sister in law and brother in law: Sonja and Eric Cranmer of Godfrey, a brother in law and sister in law: Tim and Sheree Winchester of Alton, her nieces: Hayley, Carolyn, Erica, Jessica, Meagan, Kylie, her nephews: Cody, Dustyn, Tim, Aaron, many great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Wende was formerly employed in the accounts payable department at Pittsburgh Pipe in St. Louis for over fifteen years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Riverbend Rockers and Voices of Life – St. Louis Rheumatoid Arthritis Chronic, & Autoimmune.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father in law: Leroy Winchester.
In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 10am until time of reflection at 1pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Charles West will officiate memorial services beginning at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family or to Voices of Life – St. Louis Rheumatoid Arthritis Chronic, & Autoimmune and will be accepted at the funeral home.
