Wayne E. Gillison, 60, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Born Apr. 28, 1963 in Alton, he was the son of Rodney M. Gillison and Mary E. (Ruyle) Pink.
Wayne worked as a cook all his life. For a time he worked for Chef’s Bob’s Catering and most recently he cooked at The Franchise in Wood River. He loved catfishing, playing cards, and cooking, but his main love were his grandsons.
Survivors include his daughters, Ashley Wilkerson of Wood River and Heather Gillison and her husband Seth Gelke of Champaign, IL; and his four grandsons, Conner, Hunter, Ian and Logan.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather John Pink, and a sister, Phyllis Gillison.
In honor of Wayne, there will be a party at The Franchise on Sunday, March 10 beginning at 2 p.m.
