Wandell P. Scheurer, 86, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home.
Born Feb. 13, 1930 in Alton, he was the son of Paul F. and Hazel (Hatch) Scheurer.
He married Pauline F. Moody March 1, 1949 in Medora, Ill. She survives.
Wandell worked for 32 years as a driver for CBW Transport in South Roxana. Farming was also important to him, and he worked his family farm for years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael (Fran) Scheurer of Godfrey; a daughter, Linda (Allen) Watson of Rosewood Heights; four grandchildren, Shannon (Ryan) Landvoy of Yakima, Wash., Paul (Kim) Scheurer of Godfrey, Emily (Benjy) Bomkamp of Wood River, and Adam Watson of Rosewood Heights; 6 great grandchildren, Anna and Gabby Landvoy, Brody and Liam Scheurer, Evan Bardsley, and Landon Bomkamp; and a sister, Joy (Jerry) Paul of Fosterburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons, Brett and Bradley Scheurer.
Private family services were held at Fosterburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice or to the Fosterburg Cemetery Association.
