Walter “Bud” Kenneth Boyd, age 87, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, 2:08 p.m.

at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton.He was born May 1, 1930 in Alton, Illinois and was the son of the lateEdwin and Ivy (Lewis) Boyd.He married the former Patty Jo Parker on July 30, 1955 in Alton, she survives.Bud worked as an Operator for the Mississippi Lime Company for almost 50 years, and was a lifetime member of the Alton VFW Post # 1308In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Shawn (Karen) Boyd and Daniel (Sarah) Boyd both of Fosterburg, IL.; five grandchildren, Joshua, Meghan, Ryan, Daniel Jr., Katie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters Florence McGuiggan and Charlotte Davis.Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6, 2017 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Elias-Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Troy Crain officiating.Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with military rites provided by Alton VFW Post 1308.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.An online tribute and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalschaaf.com
