Walter "Bud" Clay Willeford, Sr.

Walter "Bud" Clay Willeford, Sr., 77, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home in Roxana, surrounded by his wife and son.

Born in Russellville, KY on July 12, 1941, the son of James Walter and Mary Katherine Willeford.

Bud married Trixie Lea Malson-Grimm on May 22, 1965 in Wood River. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1961 and was a member of the Labor Union for 52 years, belonging primarily to Labor Local 338.  He was also a member of the American Legion  Post 794 for 50 years.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting as well as woodworking. As time passed, he enjoyed playing poker with his family and fiends.  Bud was also a huge St. Louis Blues fan, always making time to follow their progress toward that elusive Stanley Cup.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, James Robert and Curtis Eugene; and two nephews, Richard Kearby and Skipper Cunningham.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Walter "Buddy" Clay Willeford, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Lisa (Duft) of Tucson, AZ; his mother-in-law, Shirley Grimm of Roxana; his sister-in-law, Brenda (Kenneth) Farley; brother-in-law, Reese (Jenny) Yates; six cousins, Jackie Cunningham, Karen Spitzer, Sherlene Ingram, Lela Willeford, Gloria Shewmake and Curtis Willeford; grandson, Brad Duft; seven nieces, Ree'se "Sweet Pea" Yates, Jennifer Yates, Evonda Farley, Alvina Farley, Malissa Willeford, Dannielle Sneed and Tracey Devery; five nephews, Brian (Connie) Farley, Monty and Dylan Farley, Craig Willeford, Kenneth and Kathy Kearby.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov.6 from 4-8 pm at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

Funeral services will also be held at Marks Mortuary at 10:30 am, Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

Daniels (Nephrologist), the entire Staff of the Alton Memorial Infusion Center, the Nursing Staff on the 2nd Floor of the Alton Memorial Duncan Wing, the BJC Hospice Team, the Kelly Family, the Wells family, the Bourbon Family, the Monroe Family, as well as all other Family and Friends.
