Vivian Nancy Douglas, 93, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Born October 29, 1924 in Alton, she was the daughter of Eugene E. and Anna M. (Lamparter) Cranmer. She married Daniel Douglas on January 16, 1943. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1997. Mrs. Douglas retired as a 2nd grade teacher for Brighton Elementary School after 20 years of service. She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Homyer of St. Charles, MO, and Donna Bailey of Treasure Island, FL. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Elizabeth McLagan, Lisa Hayes, Stacia Baldwin, Daniel Carey, Leslie Carey, Meagan Wright, Terra Bailey, and Mackenzie Bailey, and seven great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Harry and Sonny Cranmer, and two sisters, Lillian and Viola Heckman. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 4,2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
