Vivian D. Masterson

Vivian D. Masterson, age 80, of Bethalto, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 2:47 am, at Christian Northeast Hospital. 

She was born on June 30, 1933, in Mounds, IL, the daughter of the late Herman and Kathryn (Wilson) Daniels.

She married Jesse Masterson on December 20, 1952, and he survives. 

Vivian was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. Mrs. Masterson retired after working as a cook in the Bethalto school system for many years. She was a member of Bethalto United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Jesse, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven Clark and Grace C. Masterson of Villa Ridge, MO; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Renee and David C. Jones of Bethalto; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Cheryl Daniels; a sister-in-law, Sue Daniels four grandchildren, Katie Jones, Wesley Masterson, Gabriel Masterson, and Sarah Jones; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Jesse Masterson and Bethany Vivian Nappier; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Stanley Neal Masterson; a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Donald St. Peters; and a brother, Tony Daniels.

 A visitation will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013, beginning at 9:30 am, at Bethalto United  Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary.

A private family burial service will be held at a later date in Rose Lawn Memory Garden. 

Memorials may be made to the Bethalto United Methodist Church Building Fund.
