Virginia Mae Boger-Yakstis, 90, of Wood River passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Christian Hospital Northeast with her son Dennis Boger at her bed side. She was born the only child of Howard William and Phoebe (Jacobs) Kelso on July 16, 1926. She worked as a cashier/clerk for the Tri-City and Kroger grocery companies, retiring in 1986.
She loved her family, traveling, her dearest friend, Alice, and her cat Sweetie. She will be deeply missed
The family would like to gratefully thank the Foxes Grove Assisted Living Community for the exceptional care they showed her there and Paynic Home for Funerals for all their assistance in her final arrangements.
Per her request, no visitation was held. Graveside services were performed by the Rev. Dan Smith. Any Memorial gifts may be made, in her name, to the Joanne Knight Breast Health Center, in care of Siteman Cancer Center, CB1204, 7425 Forsyth Blvd., St. Louis, MO. 63105.
