Virginia Louise Blumenberg

Virginia Louise Blumenberg, 62, died at 6:10 p.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at her residence.

She was born in Scottville on Dec. 4, 1947, the one of elven children born to the late Keith & Grace (Cardwell) Jackson.

Virginia had been employed with Capitol Record/EMI in Jacksonville beginning in 1988, and worked there until the plant closed in 2004.  She loved the outdoors, and enjoyed camping, berry picking, mushroom hunting, and her annual trips canoeing on the Current River.  She also enjoyed canning and was considered the perfect grandma to her 13 grandchildren.  She married Gustav "Gus" Blumenberg  on Aug. 29, 1970 at the Rockbridge United Methodist Church, and they have shared nearly 40 years together.

Surviving are her husband, Gus; four children & their spouses, Tammy & Pat McAdams of Carrollton, Kevin Gress, and his companion, Tonya Klein of Hamburg, Wendy Rives of Jacksonville, and Terry & Monica Blumenberg of Rockbridge; 13 Grandchildren; one great grandson; four sisters & brothers in law, Vivian & Dale Rimbey of Rockbridge, June & Donald Bain and Betty & Sherman Devening all of Jerseyville, and Linda & Ronnie Johnson of Shipman; four sisters in law, Marie Jackson of Rockbridge, Carol Jackson of Kane, Peggy Ash of Rockbridge and Jeanette Jackson of Jerseyville; and numerous neices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and six brothers, Dean, Ronnie, Leroy, Bobby, Russell and Glenn "Bo" Jackson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday.  Rev. George Rosales will officiate.
Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to her family in care of the funeral home.
