Virginia H. Boyd, 92, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Elmwood Nursing & Rehab in Maryville.
Born Nov. 23, 1919 in Waterloo, Ill., she was a daughter of William J. and Ida M. (Murphy) Morris.
She married Delzie Lee Boyd July 19, 1941 in St. Charles, Mo. He passed away March 14, 1985.
She is survived by a son, Stan Boyd and a son-in-law, Michael Lorts, both of East Alton; two grandsons, Michael Lorts, Jr. and Matthew Lorts; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Lorts; two sisters, Jesse Rust and Bessie Lefler; a half-sister, Vera Maness; and two infant siblings.
Visitation will be Friday, March 16 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Reverend Walter McCaslin will officiate.
Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Star Hope Cemetery in Elsberry, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Wood River.
