Virginia F.(Wheeler)  Foster, 79, died suddenly at 9:46 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2012 at her residence.She was born in Kane on Dec. 6, 1932, and was one of four children born to the late Leonard Guy & Mayme E. (Burch) Wheeler.She was a member of the Kane Baptist Church, and was a member of the former Women of the Moose, and was employed at International Shoe Factory in Jerseyville prior to her children being born.She married Roy Edward Foster on July 3, 1948 in Alton, and together they have not only shared, but truly enjoyed their nearly 64 years together.  They have been blessed with eight children, who in turn, blessed them with 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. She & Roy purchased the home they live in,and raised their children in ,on her 16th birthday, Dec. 6, 1948, and have made their house on Baxter Avenue their "home".  Virginia said many times that "she may not have a dime in her purse, but she was the richest woman in the world".Surviving are her husband, Roy Foster of Jerseyville; six children & their spouses, Angela Gibson, Alan & Janet Foster, Adam & Lisa Foster, Alex Foster, Acinda & James Eschbach, and Andrea & Terry Roach all of Jerseyville; a son in law, Steven Brunaugh of Jerseyville.She is also survived by her 17 Grandchildren & their spouses, who lovingly referred her as "Grandma Mustang", Tamara & Robert Shaffer, Christina & Steve Smith, Jeremy & Jennifer Gibson, Lyndsey Gibson, Hope Brunaugh, Jason & Gwen Brunaugh, Joshua & Katie Brunaugh, Emily Brunaugh, Rodney A. Foster, Ethan Foster, Hunter Foster, Cassandra Foster, Jenna Eschbach, Janie Eschbach, Zachary Wilschetz, Hanna Roach, Michael Roach, ; 11 great grandchildren, Andrew, David, and Jayme Shaffer, Kaylynn Smith, Coby & Caroline Gibson, Sarah Hartman, Jaxon and Makenna Brunaugh, Clayton & Tanner Brunaugh; three sisters in law, Velma Wheeler of Jerseyville, Joan Foster of Kane, and Annie Haneline of Jerseyville; along with numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Rodney Foster;  her beloved daughter, Alicia (Foster) Brunaugh who passed away two weeks ago, on Jan. 21, 2012; a son in law, Bruce Gibson; and three brothers & a sister in law, William Guy & Adaline Wheeler, Ora Burl Wheeler, and Edward Wayne Wheeler.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday.  Rev. Ted Engelsdorfer will officiate.Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.Memorials may be given to the Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville.
