Verner Tucker

 Verner Jerome Tucker, 73, passed away Thursday, November 2 ,2017, at his home in East Alton

He was born May 13, 1944, in Alton, son of the late Verner W. and Fern (Barbee) Tucker.Jerome was a veteran of the United States Army. Prior to retirement, Jerome worked for Owens Illinois as a mold maker, for 18 years. He was a lifelong member of the Cottage Hills VFW. Jerome dearly loved working for Senior Services Plus/Meals on Wheels.Survivors include his sister, Sharon and Dan Hatcher of Bethalto; ten nieces and nephews, Mark and Starla Cain, Keith and Donna Cain, Alan and Robyn Cain and their family, Ethan and Jordan, Bruce and Laura Cain and their family, Tyler, Jon and Mary Cain and their family, Delaney, Matthew, and Josephine, Sheri and Tina Cain, Robin Powell and her family, Ashley, Devin, Cody, and Sydnee, Kim Feeney and her family, Alex, Jill Little and her family, Ryan and Kerri, and Jeff Pickering and his family, Ashton and Blake; and Jerome’s beloved dog, Willie.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Tim Drury officiating. Military Burial Rites will be provided by the Illinois Army National Guard.He is preceded in death by his parents; and beloved sister, Beatrice “Bea” Venezia Cain.Cremation rites have been accorded.Memorials may be made to Senior Services Plus at 2603 N.
