Verna Dizmang

Verna J. Dizmang, 70, passed away December 19, 2025 at her home.

Born July 10, 1955 in Wood River, she was a daughter of Joseph Vernon Turner and Vivian Luella (Dain) Melow.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Verna worked as a nurse for over 50 years, starting as a candy striper at the age of 14. She was especially dedicated to taking care of the elderly.   

She married Stephen Allen Dizmang in 1992.  He survives, as well as her son, Christopher David (Jody) Warwick and her daughter, Kelly Jean (Cody Lee) Echternacht, all of Bolivar, MO; 7 grandchildren, Christian A. (Heather Rochelle) Warwick, Zachary M. (Abby) Warwick, Lydia Grace Warwick, Julia Hope Warwick, Hayden (Majesti) Conner, Hayley Marie Conner (Kraig Beeson), and Eathan (Kelsey Renae) Conner and five great grandchildren, all of Bolivar; three sisters, Beverly Zangori of Fosterburg, Sandra (Steven) Trent of Olympia, WA, and Patricia (Dennis) Corsa of Alton; a brother, Donald R. Turner of Hartford; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Tracie M. Burton; and a brother, Ronald L. Turner.

A family celebration of Verna’s life will be held at a later date.
