Vera Huber

Vera L. (Burney) Huber of Summerfield, FL., and formerly of Alton, Illinois, died on November 20, 2017 in her sleep at the age of 74.She was born on December 27, 1942 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Estil and Emma Burney. She graduated from Alton High School in 1961 and married Dave Huber in 1964. She worked and retired at Oakton Communty College in Des Plaines, ILVera had a love for her family and a passion for golf alongside her husband. They both retired to Florida in 2003 where her and Dave spent many happy years on the golf course. Her family was very proud of her 3 hole in ones she had in her golfing life.In addition to her deceased husband, Vera is survived by her son and daughter-in -law, Mike and Angela Huber of Odessa, FL; her daughter Sandra Rice and son-in-law John Tomaras of St. Charles, IL; her grandchildren Joseph, Michael, Gabrielle, Ashley, Thomas, and Michael; her sisters Sissy Myrlan Harlan Janice Shirley of Alton, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Bud and Tom Burney as well as her parents Estil and Emma Burney.Visitation will be Saturday, January 6, 2018, 10:00 am until time of a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Elias-Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Deacon Bill Kessler officiating.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
