She was born on July 3, 1922 in Alton, IL the daughter of Arthur & & Ermal (Yates) Johnson.
She married William "Pete" Cambron on June 26, 1942 in Alton, IL. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2005.
She was a homemaker and previously worked at Owens Illinois Glass Manufacturing in Alton.
In her early married years, she enjoyed dancing to Big Band music with her husband . She also enjoyed following his "baseball career."
She enjoyed her grandchildren and spent her retirement years taking care of her grandchildren and going to their sporting and dance events. She was a former president of the PTA when her children were in elementary school. She loved to knit, sew and do seamstress work; she enjoyed bowling and had a soft heart for dogs.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary & Debbie Cambron of Crown Point, IN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie & Ron O'Dell of Alton and Brenda & Gary Humphrey of Collinsville, IL; nine grandchildren, Matt Cambron, Monica (Phil) Seymour, Samantha Cambron, Daniel O'Dell, Patti O'Dell, David Kasten, and Adam Kasten, and Kevin & Lauren Humphrey; three great grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Donald Gillis of Alton, and one niece, Donna Deall of Florissant, MO.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 11:30 am until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm Thursday February 18, 2010 at Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Rev. David Blackburn officiating.
Burial will be in Upper Alton Cemetery.
