Trudy Hoese

“To our family and friends, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Trudy Anne Hoese. She was a woman who was a true vessel of kindness. We see a life that was lived with an open heart. It is said that the way we treat others is the true measure of our soul, and by that measure, Trudy was extraordinary. She didn't just meet people; she welcomed them. She treated every soul she encountered with a warmth that made them feel like they had known her forever."

"There was a kind of joy in the way she moved through the world. Many of you have shared stories of her arrival—how you would hear the music before you saw her. Whether it was the rock-and-roll spirit of Aerosmith or a simple beat, she would pull up, step out of her car, and begin to dance.

?But while she was often dancing, she was never lost. Her family fondly remembers her as a 'natural-born GPS.' She had an incredible, almost miraculous mind for direction. It didn’t matter if she had been to a place only once, or if it was halfway across the world—she knew exactly how to get there. And not only could she take you there, she could tell you step by step directions in an instant. She was the one you wanted leading the way to any and every destination.

" Trudy had a profound connection with animals. There is a special kind of grace in a person whom animals instinctively trust. She loved them and they returned that love in kind. This reflected the gentleness of her spirit—a spirit that saw value in all of God’s creatures."

"We also remember her for the gift of laughter. She possessed a wonderful, sharp sense of humor and a knack for the unexpected. She could do the funniest things, often when they were least expected, reminding us all not to take ourselves too seriously. She leaves behind a community of friends—of which there are many—who are better for having laughed with her."

"Though we feel the silence where her music used to play, we take comfort in knowing that her dance continues in a place of peace. Let us carry forward her lessons: to treat the stranger as a friend, to care for the creatures of the earth, and to never be afraid to dance when the music starts. She will be missed dearly by her loved ones just as she will be forever loved by them.”

She is preceded in death by her parents James Thurston Snipes, her mother Lois Mae Snipes and her brother Robert Thurston Snipes. She is survived by her husband Gregory Lee Hoese, her son Christopher Allen Cotton and daughter Ashley Nicole Cotton, her nephew Joseph Alan Papin and wife Shannon Lynn Buchanan, their two beautiful daughters Zoi and Qyli. And her three cherished grandchildren, Ava Elizabeth Cotton, Reva Mae Price and Liam Matthew Price.

“May she rest in eternal peace, and may her joy live on in all of us.”
