Tracy R. Piper, 88, passed away at 5:55 pm Monday, February 22, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on June 24, 1927, in Sidonia, TN, the daughter of Neal and Eva (Stanton) Hearn.
She married Paul L. Piper on December 31, 1948 in Sesser, IL. He preceded her in death in June 11, 1996.
Tracy was an employee of the Olin Corporation for 30+ years; at her time of retirement she was the supervisor of the Westerner Club. She was a member of the Meadowbrook Assembly of God Church where she served as their regular piano player. Her church and her family were the center of her life. In her younger years, she had been an avid fisherman and loved to make wonderful desserts for all family functions.
She is survived by a daughter, Vickie Hastings of Wood River, and a son and daughter-in-law, Cletus and Johanna Piper of Bethalto, five grandchildren and their spouses, Gayla Boehm, Brian and Muffy Hastings, Samantha and Nathan McNulty, Elizabeth Priest, and Steven and Felicia Runion, fourteen great and great, great grandchildren and one niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Meadowbrook Assembly of God Church with Pastor Alta Vaughn officiating.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the Meadowbrook Assembly of God Church.
