Tonia Nicole Patton, 49, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026.
She was born on May 18, 1977, in Sparta, IL., the daughter of William L. and Grace A. (Lear) Patton.
After graduating from Civic Memorial High School she went to Sanford Brown Business College. Tonia then worked for the past 25 years throughout the Riverbend area as a legal secretary, most recently for the last 4 years working at Michael Wesley Law Office. Tonia was a member of the Wood River Eagles, where she loved to play pool and darts. She loved to be in the sun and perfecting her tan. She loved animals of all kinds, but was particularly found of dolphins. She was deeply attached to her dog, Scrappy. Tonia was a proud grandmother, and loved her grandchildren with her whole heart.
She is survived by her children, Trevor (Imogene) Patton, and Keith Patton; a brother, William Charles Michael Patton; grandchildren, Sophia Patton, and Colton Patton; as well as many additional family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 4 pm until time of service at 6 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Terry McKinzie will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the funeral home to help with expenses.
