Tommy L. Speece, 67, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away at 9:03 p.m. Wed. July 1, 2026 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO.
He was born Feb. 2, 1959 in St. Louis, MO to the late Tommy H. and Geraldine A. (Grill) Speece.
On May 3, 1985, he and Carol Y. Simpson were married in Edwardsville, IL. She survives.
Tommy was a Journeyman Sheetmetal worker with Local #268, retiring after 40 years. He also served in the IL Army National Guard from 1978 to 1983 and was lifetime member of the Granite City Moose Lodge. His greatest joy was his family and grandchildren and spending time at the lake.
In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by 3 children: Michael (Jessica) Nelson of Granite City, Jessica (Justin) Elliott of Glen Carbon and Matthew (Jessica) Speece of St. Peters, MO; 11 grandchildren; and a sister: Irene (David) Schwierjohn of FL.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Leo Speece.
