Tommy Sherman

Tommy E. Sherman, 87, of Gillespie, IL, died at Gillespie Health and Rehab Center, Gillespie, IL on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 6:20 am. He was born May 11, 1938, in Litchfield, IL to Charles E. Thunehorst & Norman J. and Catherine Wright Sherman. 

He married Mary Etta Stoneburner. She preceded him in death on October 22, 1983. He married Lynne Folkerts. He was a contractor. Tommy was a member of the Shriners and Masons (Scottish Rites). He enjoyed Mustangs, motorcycles, archery and motor home travel. 

He is survived by his wife, Lynne Sherman of Gillespie, IL, sons, Tommy (Carol) Sherman Jr. of Gillespie, IL, Todd (Leslie) Sherman of Gillespie, IL, step son, Keith (Tina) Marburger of Litchfield, IL, step daughter, Kelly (Clay) Titsworth of Litchfield, IL, grandchildren, Chase, Marrisa, Keasha, Kirsten, Haley, Emily, Chad, great-grandchildren, Chloe, Nolan, Ruger, Norah, Maddy, Hazel, Lucy, sisters, Diane Williams of Oak Hill, WV, Rosemary Sherman of Staunton, IL. 

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, first spouse, son, Charles "Chuck" E. Sherman, brother, Norman Sherman and sister, Janet Gentle. 

Friends may call on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral services are Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Burial will be at Gillespie Cemetery, Gillespie, IL.
