Todd Bailey

Todd Allen Bailey, 55, of Brighton, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.

He was born on June 24, 1970, in Alton, the son of the late Glenn “Corky” and Sharon (DeVerger) Bailey. Sharon passed when Todd was young, and Glenn married Brenda Bailey, who became a second mom.

Todd married Donita Copeland, the absolute love of his life.

He was a machine tool mechanic and worked on heavy machinery at Boeing.  He was a member of Midwest Motor Heads and was a co-founder of Brighton BMX.  Before passing Todd was working on his pilot’s license.  He had finished all his ground classes and had completed several of the flight hours required.  He could work on anything mechanical and had spent several years restoring his old truck.  Todd was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton and enjoyed attending his hometown church St. Alphonsus in Brighton.  His greatest pride was his grandchildren and family.

Todd is survived by his wife, Donita; mother, Brenda; brother Terry (Carole) Bailey; four sons, John (Ashley) Weaver of O’Fallon, Michael Copeland of Alton, Brian (Andrea) Copeland of Holiday Shores, and Shawn (Jo) Copeland of Bunker Hill; nine grandchildren, Gabby, Hayden, Easton, Addison, Ainsley, Logan, Oliver, Willow, and Violet; nieces and nephews, Samantha Bailey, JJ Alexander, Shawnna Alexander, Waylon Alexander, and Dalton (Victoria) Mitchell; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Corky and Sharon; brother Tim Bailey.

Visitation will be held from noon until the time of funeral service at 2 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
