Tina Douglass
Saint Louis | Save
Tina Franz Douglass, 60, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis after battling ovarian cancer for the last 4 years.
She was born May 24, 1965, the only daughter of the late Helmut and Mary Erika (Kirsch) Franz. She grew up in South St. Louis where she fell in love and married her husband of 41 years, William Douglass, who survives.
She was a dedicated military spouse and together raised three surviving children, Steven Douglass (Sam) of Godfrey, Amy Douglass (Jess) of Godfrey and Matt Douglass (Ena) of Greensboro, NC. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Brookelyn and Hudson, three brothers, Tim Franz (Dena), Chris Franz (Cindy) and Eric Franz (Susan), and a cousin who was like a sister, Melody Kirsch
Tina worked for many years as a cashier at Godfrey Schnucks but enjoyed researching new places to travel and explore any chance she could. One of her favorite things to do was sit in the river at the Huzzah with Bill, family and friends but also loved bonfires, playing spades and shopping for deals with Robin.
She was one of a kind, a best friend to many and had an extraordinary gift of making everyone around her feel special, especially on birthdays. She was responsible for creating so many memories that will be treasured forever and will be missed beyond belief.
A celebration of life will be held on her birthday, May 24, 2026, with details to be provided by the family. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional information and online guestbook may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
