Timothy Hartnett

Timothy Patrick Hartnett, 57, died unexpectedly Monday, October 10, 2016 in the Emergency Room at Jersey Community Hospital.He was born on December 19, 1958 in Lubbock, TX, the son of William Randolph & Janice Marie (Dennis) Hartnett. Tim grew up in the Brighton area and attended Southwestern Schools before the family moved to Alton where he attended high school, graduating with the class of 1977. Shortly after High School, he moved to the Dallas area, later returning to Godfrey and most recently, Jerseyville where he has been a resident for the past 13 years. He married the former Kimberly Hazelwonder on October 7, 2000 in Alton and together they have shared many wonderful memories together and the joys of raising their family. Tim was devoted to his family, and worked tirelessly to provide the best life he could for his wife and children. He was employed as on the road truck driver for nearly 30 years, working for various companies throughout his career, including: Jim Strickland, Bob Wock, Hansen Trucking, Henry Transportation, Hopkins, LLC and most recently Faebic, Inc. of St. Louis, MO. Tim truly loved being a truck driver and always gave 110% to work. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in his yard and was also known for his skills as a mechanic. More than anything, however, Tim relished in the time he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved immensely. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Hartnett of Jerseyville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah (Birmingham) & Matt Edwards of Kirkwood, MO; two sons, Matthew Birmingham, and his partner Jeff Bowers of Collinsville and Patrick Hartnett of Jerseyville; six grandchildren, Jayda, Jesse, Aubrey, Mila, Eddy and Evan; his mother and step-father, Janice & Peter McAdams of Brighton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pam Vegh of Alton; Patricia “Boo” & Danny Titchenal of Fosterburg; a brother and sister-in-law, Clark & Diane McAdams of Connecticut; as well as his Mother and Father-In-Law, Nancy Strahan-Paul of East Alton and Earl & Carol Hazelwonder of Godfrey; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his father, Randy Hartnett he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Lauren Hartnett on December 19, 2013; his father-in-law, John Paul Sr. and a brother-in-law, Brad Hazelwonder. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday .Private burial will take place at a later date at the Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home. Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville is in charge of arrangements.
