Timothy James Bechtold, 54, died at 8: 40 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016. He was born December 21, 1961 in Alton the son of Elmer and Laura (Wunderlich) Bechtold. He worked for National Maintenance as a deck hand and enjoyed hunting waterfowl and spending time on the river. Surviving are one daughter; Erin Miles (Thomas) of Griggsville, IL, his mother; Laura Bechtold of Godfrey, one sister and three brothers; Stephan Bechtold (Sandy) of Jerseyville, Marcia Wheeler (Patrick) of Godfrey, Mark Bechtold (Karen) of Godfrey and Michael Bechtold (Susie) of Godfrey, two grandchildren; Kaitlin and Carolyn Miles, many nieces and nephews and his best friend C. J. Springer. He was preceded in death by his father; Elmer Bechtold and one brother; David Bechtold, and many geese and ducks. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 1, 2016. Father Jack Lau, OMI will officiate. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Beltrees, IL. Memorials may be made to the 5 A’s.
