Timothy Bartholomew

Timothy A. Bartholomew, 66, passed away at 3:30pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Christian Hospital Northeast.  He was born on November 23, 1949, in Wood River, the son of the late Theodore and Virginia (McCleery) Bartholomew.  He married the former Ginger Whyers on October 5, 1990, in Edwardsville and she survives.  Other survivors include one daughter: Olivia Bartholomew of Alton, four sisters and two brothers in law: Phyllis Brockman of Alton, Peggy and Gary Kruemmelbein of Worden, Paula Vandiver of East Alton, Pamela and Tom Hawkins of Alton, four brothers and two sisters in law: Thomas Bartholomew of Bethalto, Terry and Mary Bartholomew of St. Louis, Todd and Martha Bartholomew of Brighton, Toby Bartholomew of Bethalto, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Tim was formerly employed at Dynegy in Alton as a store clerk.  He enjoyed watching baseball, planes, and cars.  He enjoyed drawing.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ted and Tracy.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am until time of celebration of life services at 12pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.  Pastor Roy Rhodes will officiate.  In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral services.  Military rites will be accorded by the Ritual Team of VFW Post 1308 of Alton.

Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
