Thomas Leroy Wylie, 59, passed away peacefully at his residence at 12:55 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
He was born on October 8, 1966, in East St. Louis, IL, the son of Leroy and Marie (Kotsiras) Wylie.
On August 1, 2003, Tom married the love of his life, Amy Bayer, in Edwardsville, IL.
Tom was a graduate of Belleville East High School and went on to work at Bussman Fuse and then as a Legal Process Server. Earlier in life, he attended trade school at the St. Louis Broadcast Center and spent time as an on-air personality for "The Charlie Tuna Show" 590 KLIS, a role he greatly enjoyed.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Tom was an avid St. Louis Blues fan and a sports enthusiast-especially passionate about hockey, football, and baseball. He never missed the Indy 500 races and proudly attended them every year since 1986. Known for his sharp mind, quick wit and love of facts, he was a true trivia buff with an impressive breadth of knowledge.
Tom is survived by his wife, Amy Wylie of Alton; his daughter and son-in-law, Abigail and Nicholas Wilmsmeyer of Bethalto, IL; his sons, Emerson Wylie and Sammy Wylie, both of Alton; his father and stepmother, Leroy & Judy Wylie of Swansea, his brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Kristi Wylie of Caseyville, his niece, Mia Wylie of Maryville, his mother-in-law, Mary Bayer of Alton, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff & Jessica Bayer of Portland, OR and his lifelong friend, David Freed of St. Augustine, FL.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Wylie, an infant sister, Mary Frances Wylie, and his father-in-law, Joe Bayer.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Woodlands Golf Course in Alton, IL.
Please come in casual sports attire, no socks needed and flip flops are welcome.
