Thomas Wesley Wallace, 75, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at 8:30 am, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Meadowbrook on September 8, 1943, the son of Charles Wesley Wallace and Freda Augusta Bartlett. He married Frances Leona Varble in Rosewood Heights, on March 15, 1968.
Thomas was a member of the Wood River Moose and the Eagles Club in Wood River. He enjoyed fishing, raising rabbits, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by four children and their spouses, LaVonne (John) Berry of Gillespie, Peggy Wallace of Cottage Hills, Kenneth (Casey) Wallace of Granite City, and Paul Wallace of Cottage Hills; a sister, Charlene Williams of Bethalto; a brother, Melvin Wallace of Georgia; eleven grandchildren that were his world, he loved them dearly; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Melba Goacher, Peggy Hopper, Inis Owens and Annabell Whorl; a half-brother, Charles Wallace; and a granddaughter, Danielle Marie Berry.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral service will be on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11 am.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the family.
