Thomas “Tom” Patrick Horn, 57, passed away at 9:36am Friday March 2, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital with his family by his side.

 

He was born on January 2, 1955 in Alton, IL the son of James F. & Mary Ann (Accario) Horn Sr.

He married Cindy Ponzetti on June 5, 1992 in St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL. She survives.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Cahokia.  He was the owner and operator of Big Tom’s Meat Market in Cahokia, IL and loved fishing and hunting, and wood working.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his mother, Mary Ann (Accario) Horn of Alton, two children and spouses, Michael & Dawn Presson of Cahokia and Christine & Ross Vandever of Waterloo, IL, three grandchildren, Clara Presson, and Ross Vandever IV and Justin Vandever; six siblings and spouses, Jim & Cheri Horn of Alton, Tim & Vicki Horn of Godfrey, Ann (Horn) Parker of Godfrey, Matt & Laura Horn of Godfrey, Dennis & Jenny Horn of Roger, AR, and Chris & Dana Horn of Godfrey.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom he liked to spoil.

He was preceded in death by his father, James F. Horn Sr.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be from 9 am until time of funeral Mass at 11 am Saturday March 10, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Paul Wienhoff and Fr. Jim Walther OMV celebrants.

Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic High School Capital Campaign Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
