Thomas McNeil

Thomas "Pat" Patrick McNeil, 77, of St. Louis, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Barnes Jewish Hospital.

He was born on May 30, 1948, in St. Louis, the son of Jack T. and Norma L. (Rowland) McNeil.

Pat is a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He later worked in the Festus school district as an art teacher for over 25 years. Pat attended the Maplewood United Methodist Church. He had a love of volleyball, playing himself, as well as coaching at the high school in Festus. Pat was very artistic and had painted many beautiful pictures. He enjoyed gardening and going to resale shops. He was also very generous while giving gifts. Most of all, he loved the time he spent with friends and family.

He is survived and will be missed by his siblings, Mike McNeil, Jackie McNeil (Elaine), Beth McMillan, Beckie (Ken) Harmon, and Sally Mahoney; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Along with his parents and step-mother, Marilyn McNeil, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Nick McNeil-Welch; a sister-in-law, Carolyn McNeil; and two brothers-in-law, Lynn McMillan, and Kevin Mahoney.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 1 pm until time of service at 2 pm, at Maplewood United Methodist Church, located at 7409 Flora Ave, Maplewood, MO 63143. Pastor Andy Bryant will officiate.

Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with final arrangements.

A private family burial will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Maplewood United Methodist Church and/or Wounded Warriors.
