Thomas Tanner

Thomas Edward Tanner, 64, died at 1:27 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his home in Alton. Born January 17, 1953 in Alton, he was the son of Theodore and Dorothy (White) Tanner. Mr. Tanner served in the U.S. Army and worked as a remodeler for County View Trailer Homes. He was an avid card player and enjoyed camping and fishing. He loved long rides on his Harley. Surviving are his brother and sisters, Linda Camerer, Sandra Sanders, Gloria Radford and David Tanner and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are four step-children, Wendy Jo Escamilla, Jennifer Wallace, Justin Fleming and Chad Fleming, 14 step-grandchildren and one great step-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Steven Helfrich will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the family.
