Thomas D. Wyhs, 68, passed away at 2:32 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at his daughter’s home.
Born June 21, 1949 in Alton, he was a son of George Francis and Effie Marie (Campbell) Wyhs.
A union painter, he served in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie A. (Leach) Wyhs; 3 daughters, Deana (Michael) Lawrence of Irving, IL, Jessica (Jim) Turney of Bunker Hill, and Barbara (Michael) Gardner of Greencastle, IN; 8grandchildren, Sierra Yost, Dallas Lawrence, Michael Gardner, Caleb Gardner, Kyla Gardner, J.T. Turney, Mason Turney, and Kaleb Turney; one great grandchild, Kaizen Darland; his siblings, June Simms, Bobbie Amburg, Lorraine Daniels, Janice Lara, Daniel Wyhs, and Ginger Lankford; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and many well-loved brothers and sisters.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life service from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 at the East Alton American Legion Post #794.
