Thomas Edward Austin, Jr., age 69, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on June 3, 2026. He was born on July 13, 1956, in Granite City, Illinois, to Thomas Edward Austin, Sr. and Mary Ellen Morris.
Thomas was a man of curiosity, ingenuity, and quiet dedication. From a young age, he was captivated by the night sky. His fascination with astronomy led him to build a telescope capable of viewing Jupiter—an accomplishment that reflected both his creativity and his determination to understand the world beyond his own.
He spent many years working on the assembly line for A.O. Smith, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady presence. Later, he contributed his skills to Maytag, where he played a role in the development of the Neptune Motor, a project that showcased his technical ability and commitment to innovation.
Beyond his professional achievements, Thomas’s greatest legacy was the care and devotion he showed to his family. He lovingly tended to both of his parents throughout their later years, ensuring they remained supported and comforted until their passing—his father in 1999 and his mother in 2021. His loyalty and compassion were evident in every act of service he offered them.
