Theresa "Terri" Kay Rake, 60, entered eternal life on November 10, 2016 surrounded by the love of her family.
Daughter of Billie Gene and the late Lelia Brown, a native of Wood River and South Roxana; she graduated from East Alton Wood River High School in 1974. In August of 1980, she entered active duty in the U.S. Air Force, She was assigned to the 1979 Communications Squadron, RAF Lakenheath, England as a Telecommunications Specialist. After her honorable discharge, she returned to South Roxana where she worked security for Securitas for over two decades. Her gentle and creative soul was expressed in her passion for writing and her love of reading.
Theresa was the devoted mother of three sons, John (Jennifer) Rake of Godfrey, Frederick (Sarah) Rake of Hartford, Richard Rake of Alton; her special grandson, Skylar; beloved sister, Linda (Russell) Klueter of Worden; brother, William "Bill" Brown of Virginia.
Preceding in death were her mother; sister, Geraldine "Dean" Heinemeier; and brother, George "Ed" Brown.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the 1st Baptist Church of Hartford, 301 N. Delmar, Hartford.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
