Tawnja Leanne Copeland, 59, of Moro, passed away on Saturday, April 2, at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 9, 1962, in Alton, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Clara Willmore (Johnson). She married the love of her life, Jeffrey S. Copeland on April 19, 1997, he survives.
Tawnja worked as a clerk at Meehan’s Market for 15 years. She loved being with her cats and dog and enjoyed spending time with all her family and friends.
She is survived by siblings; Mark Willmore (spouse Kelly) of Edwardsville Illinois, Joyce Autery (spouse Ed) of Mattoon Illinois, and Ron Willmore (spouse Janice) of Peoria Illinois. She is also survived by her niece Hannah Willmore and mother-in-law Theresa Copeland of Cottage Hills along with brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Brian and Stephanie Orr of Brighton Illinois, Kimberly and Darrel Goacher of Jerseyville Illinois, Larry Copeland of East Alton, Misty and Kerry King of Cleburne Texas and several nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law Larry Copeland.
In a celebration of her life, visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, 9:30 until service at 12pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Daryl Dolbee will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
