Suzanne Griggs, 78, passed away at 5:30 am Saturday June 10, 2017.
She was born June 20, 1938, in Parma, Missouri, the daughter of John and Daisy (Powell) Young.
Suzanne married Vernon Griggs on May 27, 1955 in Parma. He preceded her in death in 2009.
She retired from Stanley Home Products as a Division Director after 50 years of service. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star in Grafton, Illinois and a past president of Zonta Club of Alton - Wood River, Illinois.
She is survived by two daughters Gwen (Jeff) Kopsie of Bethalto and Joy Arview of Bethalto; two sisters Betty Beaird of Poplar Bluff, MO and Joy (Ray) Corlew of Godfrey; a brother John (Donna) Young of Brighton; five grandchildren Eric (Paige) Kopsie, Jessica (Chad) Vahlkamp, Nicole (Alex) Barnes, Brett (Abbi) Kopsie and Samantha (Michael) McRae; a great grandchild Cora Kopsie; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Kale Hanson officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
