Susan Irene "Rose" Cauley, 55, passed away at 10:02 am Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at St. Clair's Villa in Alton.
She was born on August 30, 1953 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Jack & Mary (Gernigin) McConnell.
She married Rubert "Lucky" Cauley on March 13, 1971 in Cottage Hills. He survives.
She worked at Olin Credit Union in financial recovery for over 15 years. She was a former member of St. Matthews in Alton. She loved decorating her home, gardening, her cats, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She always enjoyed the simple things in life.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine Ann & Lyle Buettner of Collinsville and Jennifer & Brian Oleson of Alton; six grandchildren, Luke, Cynthia & Logan Buettner, and Melyssanda, Harley & Ransom Oleson; one sister, and brother-in-law, Katie & Michael Bott of Alton and one brother and sister-in-law, John & Fari McConnell of New Baden.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, July 17, 2009 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Private funeral services will be on Saturday July 18, 2009.
Private burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
