Steven Vincent Provaznik, 62, passed away 8:40 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Highland on December 30, 1954, he was the son of Frank Provaznik, Jr. of Troy and the late Lois (Cox) Provaznik.

Growing up in Edwardsville, he attended Trinity Lutheran School graduated from Triad High School.  He enjoyed "drag racing" his car and was a trophy winner at Gateway.  A truck driver for Teamsters Local 525, he had driven for many companies including Bohnestiehl, Inc, Highland Redi-Mix and most recently for Beelman Trucking.  He had been a mason in the Masonic Lodge in Marine.

Steven enjoyed making people laugh, frequently pulling pranks and jokes, just so he too could smile and make that "crazy" laugh. He enjoyed fishing hunting arrowheads, flying R/C planes, listening to "oldies" musicwatching old TV show like "The Rifleman", listening to Bob Romanick on the radio, and gradening with his grandson Simon "Green Fingers".

Surviving are his father; daughters, Stephanie (Steve) Stock of Belleville, Erica (Paul) Schmoker of Germantown, April Harrison of O'Fallon, MO; five grandchildren, Steven and Simon Stock, Savannah, Cody and Morgan Schomaker; sister, Sandy (Charles) Stamm of Wood River; brothers, Dan (Joanne) Provaznik of Maryville and Mike Provaznik of East Alton.

His mother and grandparents, Frank Provaznik, Sr., Edna (nee Brase) Provaznik preceded in death.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 920 Milton Rd, Alton, IL.  Pastor Randy Fischer will officiate,

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Steven's memory.
