Steven Masiero, 67, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born Sept. 20, 1957 in Alton, he was a son of Edward and Nelda (Lawrence) Masiero.
Steve married Karen Blasingim in 1977. A member of the Teamsters union, he liked riding motorcycles and was an excellent woodworker. He especially loved deer hunting, and was a deer-killing SOB. He enjoyed sitting on his porch and celebrating life with everyone who came by.
He dearly loved his family and is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen Masiero; his daughters, Stacy (Joe) Tosetti of Nokomis, IL, Amy (Greg) Throne of Cottage Hills, and Mindy (Chad) Day of Brighton; his grandchildren, Devin (Adriana) Bryan, Brennen Bazzell, Alex Tosetti, Trevor Throne (Kadie Mueller), Gavin Day, Olivia Tosetti, Masen Day (Destiny Owens), and MaCaylin Day; his great grandchildren, Madilyn, Cameron and soon-to-be, Dallas; his mother, Nelda Masiero of Godfrey; a sister, Nancy (Ray) Ontis of Nutwood; a brother, John (Shelley) Masiero of Godfrey; a brother-in-law, Jeff Hartley of Cottage Hills; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Masiero; a sister, Janice Hartley; and a brother, Jim Masiero.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Bethalto American Legion Post #214.
