Steven Cline, 69, passed away surrounded by his family and fiance on December 23, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 10, 1956, to the late Alonzo and Virginia Cline in Alton, IL.
Steven married Elizabeth Bourland on August 11, 1978, in Godfrey, Illinois. They shared 38 years of marriage before her passing on June 25, 2016, with Steven, her sons, and loving family by her side.
Steven was well known to many as “Steve Bob,” the owner and operator of Steve Bob’s BBQ. He was also a member of the Heartland Band. Steven never met a stranger and loved to talk with everyone he met. He will be truly missed by his family, fiancée, and friends and will always be loved by all who knew him.
In his later years, Steven shared his life with his beloved fiancée, Michelle Duncan, who remained by his side until his passing.
He is survived by his two sons, Zachary Cline of Alton, Illinois, and Seth Cline of Colorado.
Steven was part of a large, loving family, including his siblings: Greta (David) Brimer, Sandra (Michael) Warren, Lonnie (Debbie) Cline, Joseph Cline, Daniel (Michelle) Cline, Timothy (Tommi) Cline, Cheryl (Richard) Hodson, and David Olmstead, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Steven was preceded in death by his sister, Jenny Olmstead; half sisters, Norma Fraley, Lorraine Ringering, and Evelyn Beck; and half brother, Elmer Cline.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on December 28, 2025, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, Illinois.
Funeral services will take place on December 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, Illinois.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, Illinois.
