Stephanie Jones

Stephanie Michelle Jones, 45, died at 9:24 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at her home in Jerseyville. She was born in Alton on December 29, 1973 and was the daughter of Everett Eugene Calvert Jr. and Helen Betts-Koehler.

Stephanie grew up in Brighton and graduated with the class of 1992 from Southwestern High School. She married Casey Jones and together they were the proud parents of four children.

She worked primarily as a waitress at several establishments throughout the years, most recently at Subway and 16 West Quick Shop in Jerseyville. In addition, she operated a day care in her own for nearly 10 years. Stephanie lived life to the fullest. Despite her health struggles, she always possessed a positive attitude and consistently put the needs of others before her own. Her children were her world, and there was not a sporting event, dance recital or special occasion that she was not there to support them. Her positive outlook, sense of humor and love for her family will never be forgotten.

Surviving are her mother, Helen Betts-Koehler; her father and step-mother, Gene and Mary Calvert, all of Carrollton; four children, Tyree, Mathew, Sara and Bayle Jones, all of Jerseyville; paternal grandmother, Gwen Calvert of Jerseyville; two brothers, Joshua Calvert of Delhi and Paul Calvert and his companion, Mary Doty, of Hettick; two sisters, Abby Calvert and her companion, Brett Chastain of Granite City and Jamie and JustinSimpson of Jerseyville; 10 nieces and nephews, Tyler, Megan, Nevaeh, Logan, Ben, Haley, Emma, Dani, Kyle and Brianna; as well as her significant other, Wayne Dunlap of Jerseyville.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Joseph Calvert on April 8, 2017; her paternal grandfather, Everett Eugene Calvert Sr.; as well as her maternal grandparents, Wesley and Joyce Betts and Margaret Betts. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
