Stanley Ketchum

Stanley W. Ketchum, 91, passed away 745 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Eunice Smith Home in Alton after a brief illness. He was born in Alton on January 29, 1926, the son of Melvin and Fratie (Sumpter) Ketchum.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he had been an operator for Clark Oil before retiring in 1988.

On July 8, 1944 in Alton, he married Lenora Graham.  She died March 20, 2014.

Surviving are a son, James W. (Kathy) Ketchum of O'Fallon, MO; daughter, Jane (Alvin) Lair of Friendswood, TX; four grandchildren, Amy Barnerd, Kimberly Freeman, Megan Ragan, Jaclyn Kertzman; five great grandchildren, Juliana Barnerd, Sophia and Ethan Kertzman, Christopher and Brandon Ragan; and a sister, Marjorie Hartsook of Palmyra.

His parents; wife; and a brother, Edward E. Ketchum preceded in death.

Visitation wil be fro 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 6 at the 1st United Methodist Church in Wood River.  Pastor David Allen will officiate.

Burial will follow in Upper Alton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church in Wood River, where he had been a long-time, faithful member.
