Shirley Sue Harris, 75, passed away at 8:16 pm Monday, April 30, 2012 at her residence.
She was born on March 24, 1937 in Alton, the daughter of Jesse C. and Frieda (Buhlman) Shriner.
Shirley was a devoted housewife. She enjoyed the outdoors and was very fond of animals and birds. Her greatest pleasure was loving and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by two former husbands, William Brockman of Grafton and James Harris of Alton; one daughter Mary Johnson of Springfield, IL and four sons, David Madison of Jerseyville, William Brockman Jr. of Grafton, Terry Brockman of Grafton, and Carl Brockman of Alton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon Low and Sylvia and Herbert Rothe, a brother, Samuel Shriner, along with 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Low; two sons, Ira Brockman and Glen Madison; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday May 3, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Friday May 4, 2012.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
