Shirley R. Davis, age 81, went to be with the Lord at 11:15 am on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL.
She was born on February 15, 1936, in Granite City, Illinois, the daughter of the late Luther C. Sr. and Bessie L. (Ford) Wallace. She married Marion P. Davis in Wood River on April 19, 1975. He survives.
Shirley was employed in the banking industry most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading, country music, traveling, painting and drawing, shopping, watching TV, had many collections, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, one daughter and son-in-law Sheryl L. (Gerald) Ramey of Godfrey, and one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Van (Judy) Davis of Meadowbrook; five grandchildren, Matt (Bethany) Schillinger, Sam Light, Emily Light, Sara Wright, and Jeffrey Davis Jr; four great-grandchildren, Melina, Mariah, Madeline, and Max; one brother and sister-in-law, Lee W.(Ellen) Wallace of Collinsville and one sister, Fay C. Edwards; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Sylvia Wright, Lawrence Wallace, Ruby Boettcher, Luther C. Wallace Jr., Robert M. Wallace and Morris F. Wallace.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Charles West officiate. Burial will be held at Moro Presbyterian Cemetery in Moro, IL.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and for the Arthritis Association.
