Shirley Marie Peckham, 78, died at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born July 22, 1937 in Biggers, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Alvin and Gwendolyn (Hord) Witcher. She was a homemaker and a member of Vaughn Hill Church of Christ in Wood River. On July 15, 1955 she married Robert L. Peckham in Edwardsville. They raised 7 children together and fostered countless children over the years. Bob passed away on December 23, 2006. Surviving are seven children, Robin Kelly (Michael) of Godfrey, Stephanie Peckham of East Alton, Michelle Joiner of Granite City, Todd Peckham (Rhonda) of Alton, Tim Peckham (Kristen) of Colorado Springs, CO, Scott Peckham of Columbus, GA, and David Peckham of Highland. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Cody, Connor, Nathan, Aaron, Elysia, Jadyn, Sydney, Samantha, Kai and Grace, a brother, Ron Witcher of Troy, and a sister, Betty Inskip of Trenton, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Vaughn Hill Church of Christ in Wood River. Pastor Brian Magnuson will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made to the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ or the Christian Family Services in Webster Groves, MO.
